A Report – GUEST LECTURE ON ACTIVITY BASED COSTING FOR B.Com V SEMESTER (Subject – Methods of Costing )

A guest lecture was organized by Department of Commerce, Sivananda Sarma Memorial RV College on the topic “ACTIVITY BASED COSTING ” for the students of V semester B.Com (Subject Methods of Costing ). The speaker was Prof. D P Ravindra, an Eminent professor and of Commerce department at Vijaya College, R V Road. Bengaluru and he has also presented many papers in National and International Conferences, his articles were published in International Journals. He is awell-known& resourceful person in Bangalore University. This virtual guest lecture was conducted in Google Meet platform https://meet.google.com/dix-arqw-udt?hs=224 for students on 28th Jan 2022 from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM. Students of final year B.com took an active participation during the programme.
Prof. D P Ravindra started his session by explaining the Overhead and importance of analysing the overheads such as collecting, apportioning, Reapportioning etc. The session focused on traditional approach of costing and application major differences between Traditional method of costing and activity based costing. He also discussed about real world examples of overheads applications. The session helped the students to understand the concept.
