National workshop on Enhancing the Research Visibility

A Report on

ONE DAY NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE WORKSHOP

 ON

“ENHANCING THE RESEARCH VISIBILITY: STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES”

(16th NOVEMBER 2021)

 

Information in a digital format, what we call as ‘E resource’ is a valuable tool for modern age. To bring more awareness on its utilization and access, Department of Library and Information Science, under the guidance of our Principal Dr. S. Anil Kumar, organized  a ‘one day National Level Online Workshop ’ on, “Enhancing The research Visibility: Strategies and Techniques” on 16th of November 2021. The event was initiated by IQAC with the support of Dr. Nagaraj M S, coordinator, IQAC. The event was coordinated by Ms. Sushma S and Co Convener was Mr. Guranna.

 

The speakers for day were Dr. B.T Sampath Kumar, Professor and Director (PMER) Department of Library and Information Science, Tumkur University University, Tumkur.

 

The topic under discussion for was “Enhancing the Research Visibility: Strategies and Techniques” (Dr. B.T Sampath Kumar)

 

The 1 day event was compered by Dr.Shalini, Asst Professor, and Dept. of Commerce. Dr. S Anil Kumar, Principal, SSMRV College in his opening remarks emphasized on the need of Library and E-Resources especially in this post-pandemic era. He mentioned about how research has its tipping point in resources like DELNET and INFLIBNET.

 

The session on Day 1 by Dr. B T Sampath Kumar started with introduction about INFLIBNET and its accessibility. He mentioned about how students and research scholars can effectively use this tool to bring in quality research into the academic environment. The session ended with a very interactive Q&A session and a formal vote of thanks.

The session had over 357 registrations and had participation from over 120 delegates. The delegates were from different parts of India like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, uttarkhand, Rajasthan, Delhi UP, Bihar, West Bengal,Kolkata,Jarkhand, Haryana, ,Goa,Gujarat, Manipur, Himalaya Pradesh, Panjab,Chhttisgadh, and of course the Southern states of Karnataka, Kerala, AP, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The session received extremely positive feedback and the event was a milestone for the Dept. of Library and information science
